Stretching it

I went to a 45-minute deep stretch class this afternoon to work out some really tense muscles, a combination of bad posture at work and all this running. I'll treat myself to a massage soon, but in the meantime, a good stretch class will do. I haven't been stretching enough before and after, so I figured this class could remind me of what I should be doing. And it would also help me justify that gym membership that's been rather underused since this training program began. It was a goooooooooooood stretch, and less stressful than yoga, which is kind of an oxymoronic statement.

Biked home, had a bowl of cereal. Then thought about the 4mi I was supposed to tackle. Mapped out a route. Left. First mile was a little bit difficult. All these stretched out muscles just wanted to relax, to be sitting on the couch watching the MTV awards or something equally mindless. The second mile was a little easier. Then miles 3 and 4 just flew by. I hit Mile 4 just as I got to the pizza joint; ordered a large pepperoni pie. And to pass the time, I ran another 1.25mi. How's that for stretching it?

I would really need/enjoy a class like that!

I hope the long run went well today
