The bed didn't win this morning. And I just might get used to this morning running thing. It wasn't a great one, but at least it's done now. I left my iPod at home, just took the Garmin, and concentrated on seeing if there was any marginal improvement running in my new shoes.
Now of course I don't think the shoes will magically make me run faster, but I was looking to see I responded to them.
I don't love them.
But maybe not yet. I can't remember if I loved my last pair of shoes (New Balance 856) on their maiden voyage. It's just the first run. But the next run is the long run. The half-marathon distance milestone(!) I haven't decided if I want to do it tomorrow or Sunday.
Completed the loop around my neighborhood -- taking extra care to not to step in anything weird, just in case I want to return these shoes ...shhhh! -- in 35:05, covering 2.97 miles, but I won't quibble about being short 0.3mi of the goal distance.

That's my thing about shoes.. some feel good, some don't. I love the bounce of a new shoe, you can actually feel less stress on your legs.. i think i should go shopping for a new pair..
how exciting, 13 miles!
