Good enough

Last night, I was definintely on the cusp of self-cancelling the long run. I'd seen a couple of movies, was aiming to see more, had a beer, was freaking out about deadlines, and preparing for more interviews. The last thing I wanted to do was get up at 6AM and run 12 miles before getting the rest of the fest underway.
I managed to get out of bed at 745. And it was one of those days when I needed the structure of a group to ensure that I got the miles in. Because I could already feel a lazy spell coming on. I jogged to the meeting spot. The group was doing 11K today -- which was good for half my scheduled mileage. I kept a fairly good pace, with the five-member middle of the pack group. About a third of the way in, we crossed paths (though is it really crossing paths if you're not on the same side of the street?) with Frankie's group. I yelled a hello and he waved back.
Got back to the store, with just a bit more than 8 miles now recorded. I had 4mi more to do, but time was getting really tight. I had an interview scheduled for 1130, and so I called CMan to rescue me. Total mileage today was 9.4mi. Good enough for a cramped sked.
