Anonymous left a one-word comment on my last post.
Toast.
To me, it feels like an attack. It feels like Anonymous is making a prediction. Looking into the future and seeing that my personal choice to skip a week of training now will result in total and utter failure come race day in 36 days? Will one week off completely undo the the last 12 serious weeks of training? I don't think so. I'll be fine. I expected to not be religious about the schedule. Running is not my whole life, my whole being, just part of it. If other things in life get in the way, well, I'm not going to ignore it. I am not any less committed to my 26.2 mile goal because of that.
Is it the guilt that is interpreting one word this way? Perhaps. But I highly doubt the comment was in the context of either bread or raising of a glass to offer congratulations.

weird comment.... I wouldn't read into it too much... seriously we've all been training for this for so long now! I also belive that 1 week won't put all of that in the garbage. Have you read last month's Runner's wolrd? They have a Q+A section where someone was saying that b/c of injury they'd miss 2 weeks of training and asking if it right to start taper even though they missed 2 long runs.... and the answer was: "As long as you followed a solid training program you have already done enough long runs to miss one or two..." which is exactly my case at the moment and I know that I can still do the 26.2 miles.
So, seriously, don't get bummed out by that comment, we'll all make it to the finish line! =) Go Jely Go!
Sorry I mispelled your name, got all excited at the end! Go JELLY! ;-)
Well said everyone. We're going to get to the finish line because we all had the guts to run the amount we have in the past four months. (you can also disable your anonynmous comments so someone with balls can put their name in there if they're to push you around..) we got your back.
I think he likes you and wants to be the toast to your jelly. ;)
Thanks guys, you guys are the greatest cheering section!! :)
